‘It’s odd,’ says the warrior of light to himself. ‘I have met so many people who, at the first opportunity, try to show their very worst qualities. They hide their inner strength behind aggression; they hide their fear of loneliness behind an air of independence. They do not believe in their own abilities, but are constantly trumpeting their virtues.’

The warrior reads these messages in many of the men and women he meets. He is never taken in by appearances and makes a point of remaining silent when people try to impress him. And he uses the occasion to correct his own faults, for other people make an excellent mirror.

A warrior takes every opportunity to teach himself.

Some of us have very poor powers of observation. We’re uninvolved, passive, and inattentive. We could glance at our watch and still not be able to tell someone the time. Some of us wouldn’t be able to direct someone to the nearest service station or tell someone where a coffee shop in our neighborhood was – even though we had passed these places hundreds of times.

There is a simple way of improving your faulty memory. Let’s use names as an example. Many people have trouble with names. The important thing is to listen carefully to the name when you are first introduced. The immediately say the name aloud. “Glad to meet you, Maryam.” Repeating the name aloud right away is very important. At the end of the conversation, repeat the name aloud again. “Hope to see you again, Maryam.”

People remember names about 30 percent better when they repeat the other person’s name at the time of introduction. And so, use the same formula to other stuff to remember things better and to improve your memory.

Tie Your Life to a Goal

If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or objects.

People come in your life to teach you. You must not ignore them, but learn from them and always respect them.

You obtain objects to help you lifting up in life and to achieve your goals. You must use them carefully and timely otherwise there is no use of having any of them.

Most important thing to always remember in life is your goal. You set your goals, you must struggle to achieve them. Once you achieve your goal, set another goal to stay determined.
