It is natural for people to ask questions and expect to have them answered. People do not care how hard it is for the one who has been questioned. It is hard because he has to maintain the hopes of the questioners so that they could move forward in their lives with their heads high.
It gets worse when people get what they want to hear but still try to ask the same thing in a new way. In some cultures, people take note of what answers they get from the questioners depending upon the background of that person whereas in some other cultures, people try to squeeze the nose of that person by asking so many interrelated questions one after the other.
You must be thinking about the people of the latter category. They are those who have bad neighbors.
